InstallData: one standard, one platform for product data

InstallData.be, the independent Belgian data pool, will see the light on April 3, 2018. FESAH, the Belgian professional federation of the sanitary and heating wholesaler, has set up InstallData.be according to the Dutch model 2BA.

The demand for current and complete article and product data is growing. Electronic communication between companies can no longer be ignored. To meet the needs of the sector, one data pool was needed where manufacturers can supply data and wholesale data can be obtained.

InstallData is the neutral datapool of trade and product data in the sanitary and heating sector. Producers, importers, wholesalers can turn to InstallData to exchange information with the central database. This exchange takes place via uniform files that are determined in the industry according to the standards of ETIM International. InstallData is organized according to the ETIM classification model, the standard in article classification within the construction and installation sector.

Data customers can automatically download the data to their software via these uniform files. Wholesalers use the data for publication on their own website and to enrich their own article information. For manufacturers and importers, InstallData acts as one central point where product and trade data are managed and operated. In many cases, complete article and product data according to the ETIM standard is decisive for the inclusion and enforcement of articles from manufacturers at wholesalers.

At the beginning of February 2018, more than 45 manufacturers in the heating and sanitary sector have already joined InstallData.
