STEP 5: FILLING IN TECHNICAL ETIM CHARACTERISTICS

Step 5 is the following step of the ETIM Classification - the technical characteristics. Once the technical characteristics have been completed in accordance with the classification, the data may be used by wholesalers as a basis for search systems, online shops, catalogues and other sales forms of displays. Moreover, your data can be optimally used within all operating processes of the installation company, such as design, calculation, purchasing and administration.
A distinction is made between alphanumerical, numerical, range and logical characteristics. For alphanumerical characteristics there is a choice of defined potential values, including colour, execution and material. Numerical and range characteristics require a numerical value (or range) for a specific unit, such as length = .. mm. A logical characteristic requires a yes/no choice.

Reason no Value
As there is an attempt within the industry to provide a complete ETIM classification (for both product classes and characteristics), a reason can be provided if a provided value is missing (MV), not applicable (NA) or unknown (UN). These are called ReasonNoValue.

PIM software
It may be that your products are (not yet) classified according to the ETIM classification. If you make use of software that provides no functions with regard to (ETIM) classification, we advise you to consult our PIM software partners.
